Udupi, Dec 15: Praveen Chowgule, the accused in the murder case of Nejaru's mother and three children, has applied for bail. Defence counsel K S N Rajesh is arguing for him.
The quadruple murder by a private airline staff, Praveen Chowgule, stabbing Haseena and her children Ainaz, Afnan, and Aseem in broad daylight had sent shivers down the spine of Udupi citizens. Haseena's mother-in-law survived the assault. The murder was provoked by Praveen's obsessive attachment to his flight cabin colleague Ainaz, reportedly.
Justice Dinesh Hegde has taken up the inquiry, and the government prosecutor has been given notice to file an objection by December 20.
The accused is currently in Parappana Agrahara jail under judicial custody until December 18.
