Cong LS candidate calls Mysuru royal scion Yaduveer Wadiyar an 'adopted child'

Madikeri, Apr 18 (IANS): Congress candidate for Karnataka's Mysuru-Kodagu Lok Sabha constituency, M. Lakshman, has claimed that BJP's Yaduveer Wadiyar does not hail from the royal family and "is an adopted child".

Speaking to reporters on Wednesday, Lakshman said: "Yaduveer does not belong to the Wadiyar royal family. What are the priorities of Yaduveer? Should he be elected just for raising his hand? Do we have to elect parliamentarians just for the sake of headcount?"

"We have fulfilled all five guarantees as promised. If our government comes to power at the Centre, we will implement 25 guarantees. Has there been any communal violence in the last 10 months in Kodagu district after the Congress government came to power?" he said, adding that during the tenure of BJP, "there was a system where communal hatred was encouraged".

Hitting out at the BJP, the Congress candidate said: "In the last general election, it was promised that the Mysuru city would be turned into Paris and Kodagu would be developed as Switzerland of India if then BJP candidate Pratap Simha is elected... Nothing was done."

    Lakshman Anna,you have no business to look into their matters but mind your own .Whether he is a adapted one or not ,is their wish.When one doesnt have own children ,can also do that .Afterall he is from within family.Not out of Ashram ,or your family.One shouldnt degrad one as you did .Has to keep up your head up.You have to speak about politic things about family matters in public.Shame on you.He didnt degrad you ,and why you must speak ,?Only to get more votes?Mean ways.

    Though Kodagu is not made like Switzerland, but new boards are put and new names to the circles and statues are built. This is development last ten years. Vote wisely who can do something to the poor like five guarantees.

    There is no doubt, and it is true. The Mysuru BJP candidate is not biological son of the Wodiyar. He is an adopted son of the royal family. But the report is based on what context the Cong candidate has said is to be emphasized.

    Anyone can contest an election in a democracy. The biggest and cruel joke is, BJP proclaims itself as anti-dynastic party. Its acts are always just the opposite. If it was really anti-dynastic, how is that it is picking a candidate only for his dynastic credentials. This is why BJP fans get the tag Aandh Bhakts.

    Only congress remarks are personal. But when someone calls congress leader with names like pappu, baba etc then it’s ok? And moreover what personal remark did the congress make on Yaduveer? The congress leader spoke the truth. Atkeast he had the guts to speak, unlike bjp who say Beti bachao….. are silent on sowjanya case.

    Oh Anna, No one is more personally attacked than Gandhi family by BJpee,hadd hai waise they didnt even spare Rajivji's vidhwa soniaji.By the way,This is a true statement he declared and there is no mockery.Wodeyar family has no more offspring to continue their legacy ,so they adopted this guy.
