Udupi: Muslim bus drivers, conductors distribute biryani on Bakrid; win hearts for gesture

Daijiworld Media Network – Udupi (JD)

Udupi, Jun 18: In a display of humanity and love, eight Muslim bus drivers and conductors celebrated the Bakrid festival in a unique and heartfelt manner.

On June 17, the Muslim community in coastal areas marked Bakrid, a festival symbolizing love, sacrifice, and devotion, with great enthusiasm. In a touching gesture, the Muslim drivers and conductors of private buses in Uchila distributed biryani to their colleagues to commemorate the occasion.

The team distributed biryani to approximately 450 people, including drivers and conductors of private express and service buses operating between Udupi and Mangalore. The initiative, spearheaded by Javed, Shanawaz, Nasir, Nizam, Mauji, and Munna, received support from various bus owners and staff members.

Reflecting on the initiative, team member Javed stated, "We all work in the same profession, and to enhance the joy of Bakrid, we distributed biryani."

The group, with the support of fellow community members and bus owners, allocated around Rs 33,000 for this purpose.

In an area sometimes marked by sensitive communal issues, the actions of these young men have sparked a renewed spirit of harmony and camaraderie.

The common man does not bear any ill feelings towards his neighbours. It is the politicians that divide the people for their own benefit. These youth should be felicitated for their generous act of celebrating Eid.

If not politician, then foreign hands can. No country wants such leader who doesn't listen to them, thisgthing happening since cold war. Eliminate the strong leader, and get puppet govt in power. That type of world we are living in.

O.K., even if it is for publicity, as you say, it is still a beautiful gesture. This nice gesture should be publicized and imitated, emulated and copied. Jai Javed and company.

why don't you donate 50 or 100 biriyanis. One end, you will get publicity, other end, some starving people will get one time food, which is more important.
