Gujjadi Swarna Jewellers’ new renovated, sprawling showroom of 2500 sq ft is located at Chilimbi. “We are the third generation into this Golden Journey,” says Ajay Nayak remembering his grandfather, Gujjadi Narasimha Nayak who started off in 1964 at Udupi.

Today Swarna Jewellers have 10 showrooms all over Karnataka, this in Mangaluru being their 5th showroom.

The focus however is on the classically renovated showroom at Mangaluru, Chilimbi, to mark Swarna’s golden journey of 60 years.

Stand out features of the renovated showroom

Thrust has been given to ‘Natural Neutral Lighting’ to highlight the jewellers in store. This creates an ambience and comfort factor for the customer to make this choice diligently. The ‘space between the counters’ is also a marked feature, where privacy is maintained so that each customer cannot hear what the others say. There is also a special counter, where a glass barrier is maintained to keep transparency in melting of gold & old jewellery.

Gold buying initiatives are also given a thrust

Swarna has a gallery of 200 plus gifted artisans at Udupi to cater to the jewellery demands of its customers. Now added to it is the fusion of the latest cutting-edge technology in 3D printing, laser soldiering and CAD/CAM. All add more finesse and longevity to the ornaments designed. The traditional items like Kempu Addige, Mallige Moggu, Jo Male, Mohana Male, Gili Ole etc. are the famous and fast-moving ones. Among the new trending items are the Temple Antique jewellery and the NAKSHE jewellery of the embossed types.

The showroom also boasts of a separate counter for the diamond’s upfront. Diamond studded earring’s (Bendole in Kannada) are available readymade or are made to order in close setting types. So are diamond bangles available with branded diamonds like Solitaire.

The bride to be is given a choice of sarees to match her ornaments with and to arrive at a conclusion instantly.

“This stand out concept is unique,” explains Ajay Nayak. “The parents, relatives and the bride to be, are facilitated into making their choice efficiently," he says explaining his new concept. The busts bedecked with the sarees at the showroom prove his point.

Reflecting on the golden journey of 60 years, Ajay Nayak further says,” It is good to recollect the past golden memories but the future too holds great potential for the gold market. Be ready, gold is sure to touch the Rs 10K mark per gram by 2030 or far earlier," he concludes.
