Bantwal: Govt Employees' Union submits petition to MLA Rajesh Naik

Bantwal, Jul 11: The Karnataka State Government Employees Association, Bantwal Taluk Branch, submitted a petition to MLA Rajesh Naik on Thursday, urging the government to address various demands. They requested the MLA to raise their concerns during the upcoming legislative session.

Union president Umanath Rai Meravu highlighted that despite 2.60 lac vacant positions across the state, government employees play a crucial role in implementing government schemes for the welfare of the public and in enhancing the state's development index and GST revenue collection. He emphasized the importance of the following demands:Implementing the recommendations of the 7th Pay Commission without modifications; reinstating the old pension scheme by canceling the NPS and enforcing the Karnataka State Health Sanjeevini Scheme.

Responding to the petition, MLA Rajesh Naik assured that he, along with other legislators from the region, would meet with the Chief Minister to present their demands.

Union members present included President Umanath Rai Meravu, secretary Santosh Kotyan Tumbe, treasurer Basayya Alimat, district president of the Primary School Teachers Association Shivaprasad Shetty, and key members Joel Lobo, among others.
