Udupi, Jul 16: Sri Sri Sri Vidyasagara Theertha Swamiji of Sri Krishnapura Mutta inaugurated the Krishnaveni Ashrayadhamaa – an abode for seniors, and the Krishnaveni Ayurveda Treatment and Wellness Centre, developed by the Salmara Govind Bhat Family Trust in Salmara of Shankerpura, on Monday, July 15.
In his blessings, Swamiji said, "Ayurveda is our traditional format. It is an age-old practice. This Ashrayadhama and wellness centre is a noble work in the Kaup taluk. The fundamental principles of Ayurveda are scientifically based. There may be other practices, but they do not understand the basic fountainhead of the body. Arteries are the fountainhead of the body, and this is defined only in Ayurveda. Although old age homes are a foreign concept, they are needed in today's society. Our generation is often moving to various places, and in such cases, these old age homes provide respite for elderly parents. This institution is serving both God and society."
Kota Srinivas Poojary, MP of the Udupi-Chikkamagaluru constituency, speaking on the occasion, said, "I hope this Ayurveda Panchakarma centre grows into an Ayurveda college in the future. Today, even a merit student from a poor family background can access a medical seat. Many students aspire to become Ayurvedic doctors. If this centre grows in the right direction, it will soon become an Ayurvedic college and a resource for many aspiring students. The family has done what the government should have done."
Former minister Vinay Kumar Sorake said, "Those who remember their elders and do good work in their names are always doing noble deeds. The trust has given elderly people an opportunity to live a happy life in their old age. Humanity should be present in every individual, and the family has done a noble work in this regard. This is a big blessing for this region."
Haridas Bhat, trustee of the Salmara Govind Bhat Family Trust, gave an introductory remark and explained about Krishnaveni Ashrayadhamaa - an abode for seniors, and the Krishnaveni Ayurveda Treatment and Wellness Centre.
