Kote, Jul 21: Lawyer T Manjunath Giliyaru stressed the significance of farming as a noble endeavour requiring substantial support and encouragement.
On Sunday, July 21, under the leadership of Geetananda Foundation Manur, the Panchavarna Yuvaka Mandal and its affiliate Panchavarna Mahila Mandal Kota, along with Raitha Dhanshi Sangha Kota, Rotary Club Kota Saligrama, Pejara Balaga Karkada, Vipra Mahila Balaga Saligrama, and JCI Senior Kota, honoured Giliyaru Bhoja Pujari during the 37th edition of "Our Walk to the Farmers".
Despite governmental policies, they emphasised the necessity for increased encouragement towards agricultural activities, as the hard work of farmers often faces challenges from other factors that affect crop yields.
K V Ramesh Rao, priest of Pandeshwara Rakteswari Temple, inaugurated the event and expressed that the "Our Walk to Farmers" initiative is a commendable recognition of Bhoja Pujari's significant contribution as a respected farmer in the Kambala region associated with Panchavarna.
During the programme, young farmer and Kambala practitioner Bhoja Pujari received the Sadhaka Ritha Pujari award, accompanied by his father Gadi Kusa Pujari, mother Girija, and wife Savita.
The programme commenced with the driving of the cart carrying the Bilva Patre Gida Nadayavudara by the couple Kusanna. Bhoja Pujari and his spouse performed a cow puja.
Ajit Achar, President of Panchavarna Yuvaka Mandal, presided over the proceedings.

Ravindra Kota, working president of Panchavarna, welcomed, proposed, and coordinated the programme.
Sujata Bairi, convener of Panchavarna Mahila Mandal, and Santosh Kumar Kota, teacher, compered the programme. Kalavati Ashok, president of Panchavarna Mahila Mandal, expressed her gratitude.
The event featured four well-known chariot rooms, notably the Kusanna's bullock cart, which garnered special attention.
