Bantwal, Jul 28: Devotees from Tulu Nadu prayed at the Muktinath Temple in Nepal, located near the China border at an altitude of approximately 13,000 feet above sea level, for the inclusion of the Tulu language in the Eighth Schedule of the Indian Constitution. They also urged the state government to declare Tulu as the second official language of the state.
Despite having a script, ancient history, and rich folk and classical literature, Tulu is yet to receive the recognition it deserves. To raise awareness about this longstanding demand, the Tulu Nadu devotees displayed the Tulu Nadu flag in the temple premises during their visit.
A team of Tulu Nadu devotees, led by Jayashree and Jayakumar from Narkikombu in Bantwal taluk, traveled to Nepal to visit several holy sites, including Pashupatinath and Muktinath temples. During their pilgrimage, they unfurled the Tulu Nadu flag at Muktinath Temple, symbolizing their support for the language's inclusion and creating public awareness.
