Mangaluru, Aug 17: Carmel School organized a comprehensive career guidance programme for the students of class X in the school auditorium on the August 17. The programme aimed to equip the students with insights into the vast career opportunities available and guide them on the path to success.
The programme commenced with a soulful prayer song, setting a reflective tone for the event. The resource persons for the day were professor Ronald Pinto, director of Institute for Individual Development, a distinguished mentor and expert in the field of education, and Lion Suresh, former president of the Lions Club.
They enlightened the students on the broad spectrum of career paths awaiting them and emphasized the importance of early planning and self-assessment in making informed career choices. Ronald Pinto also gave the insights for the effective learning process.
Suresh, in his address, opened the vast opportunities in the field of government jobs and competitive exams, especially IAS. He provided a detailed overview of the preparation strategies required for these exams, which sparked significant interest among the students.
The students were also privileged to receive guidance from other esteemed dignitaries. Ln Philip Pereira, former district cabinet secretary and convenor of the career guidance programme, Ln Ravindra Salian, secretary of Lions Club Milagres, Ln Suresh K, former president of Lions Club Kudla and IAS/IPS trainer, Ln Shashidhar Shetty, assistant cabinet secretary, Lns Hema Sharma, president of Lions Club Milagres, and Ln A G Sharma, former president of Lions Club, shared their valuable insights and experiences and assisted the students.
The interactive nature of the programme allowed the students to ask numerous questions, which were answered by the resource persons with great clarity and precision, leaving the students well-informed and motivated.
Sr Marie Prem, the administrator of Carmel School, graced the occasion with her presence, lending her support to the initiative. The event was emceed by teacher Liffin, with teacher Sonia introducing and welcoming the esteemed guests. Teacher Jahnavi concluded the programme with a heartfelt vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to all who contributed to the success of the event.
The career guidance programme was a resounding success, providing the students with the knowledge and confidence to make informed decisions about their future careers.
