Mangaluru: Workshop on life skills held at St Agnes College

Mangaluru, Oct 3: A workshop on life skills was held by St Agnes College (Autonomous), Mangaluru, on October 1 at 2:15 pm in Sofia Block, Conference Hall.

Seema Prabhu S, an assistant professor of commerce and management at Canara College in Mangaluru and a certified life skills trainer, led the workshop. The resource person, Seema Prabhu S, discussed important life skills necessary for both career and personal development.

The seminar covered a variety of themes, such as empathy skills—which enable people to recognize and experience the feelings of others—self-esteem skills, which are essential for fostering a sense of confidence and self-worth, and communication skills, which center on successful verbal and nonverbal communication.

She also emphasized the value of critical thinking abilities to improve logical reasoning and problem-solving skills, decision-making ability to make wise decisions, and listening skills for improved communication. The session was lively and participatory, giving students real-world understanding of these essential life skills.

Shawn led the group in prayer before Pranajli, the master of ceremonies, gave the welcome speech and gave an introduction to the group. The Department of Commerce hosted the event, which was overseen by Vineetha N T, HoD, with support from Sr Dr M Venissa A C, the principal of the college.

To conclude the workshop, Shamitha proposed a vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to Seema Prabhu S, the staff coordinators Anusha Noronha and Merin V M, and the attendees for their active participation.
