Mangaluru: Workshop for city zone commission members held at Holy Cross Church, Kulshekhar

Mangaluru, Oct 24: A workshop for the members of 21 Commission of the 12 city deanery churches including Kulshekar, Bondel, Neermarga, Paldane, Bajal, Kelarai, Derebail, Permai, Vamanjoor, Angelore, and Shaktinagar under the Mangalore Diocese City Deanery was held at the Holy Cross Church auditorium in Kulshekhar on Thursday, October 24. The workshop aimed to provide valuable information, foster idea exchanges, and address questions among the commission members.

The event was inaugurated by the Bishop of Mangalore Diocese, Dr Peter Paul Saldanha, who shared insights with the attendees. The session also featured a two-hour presentation by Fr Faustin Lobo, offering a detailed account of the commission’s work.

Fr James D'Souza, vicar of the city deanery, welcomed the participants and highlighted the importance of the workshop, while Fr Vijay Monteiro led the opening prayer ritual.

Several notable figures, including Fr Clany D'Souza, Fr Alvin D'Souza, Fr Clifford Fernandes, parish priest of Cordel Church and diocesan public relations officer Roy Castelino, were in attendance. Priests, vice-presidents, secretaries, commission coordinators, and religious sisters from various churches actively participated in the workshop.

The parish priest of Angelore Church, Fr Frederic Monteiro, led a special prayer. Dolphy D’souza, coordinator of 21 commission of Cordel Church gave the keynote address, and Santhosh D'Costa delivered the vote of thanks, concluding the event.
