Mangaluru: St Ann’s High School celebrates Karnataka Rajyotsava

Mangaluru, Nov 4: Karnataka Rajyotsava was celebrated in St Ann's High School by the students of standard 9th B with great enthusiasm signifying the rich culture, language and tradition of Karnataka state.

Ida D'Souza the PTA vice president was the chief guest of the programme. The programme commenced with the solemn prayer service. Hamshika welcomed the chief guest and the gathering. It was followed by a classical dance and patriotic dance depicting the culture of Karnataka.

The amazing facts about Karnataka was put forth by the students through an interview. The students were able to spread the fragrance of Kannada language with their spectacular dance performance.

Students acted a drama on the life of 'Onake Obbavva' Karnataka's unsung heroine who showed the world the true meaning of heroism. Students then melodiously sung a group song ‘Acchevu Kannadada Deepa’ that uplifted everyone's mood.

The chief guest in her message gave the importance of the day and urged the students to enjoy, cherish and save the rich culture for future generation. The headmistress Sr Ruby D’Souza AC encouraged the students to spread the rich culture heritage of Karnataka.

Jyothi proposed the vote of thanks. Soundarya and Niharika Frank compered the programme.
