Sullia: 30 detained for New Year celebration in reserve forest, released

Sullia, Jan 2: Forest department officials detained 30 youths who illegally entered the Kolikallu Male Hills, part of the Kodagu Bhagamandala Range reserve forest near Todikana, to celebrate the New Year.

The individuals were released after providing a written undertaking acknowledging their offense.

According to sources, the forest officials apprehended the youths upon their arrival at the designated spot in the hills.

The forest department officials are reportedly on high alert to prevent any such incidents in the sensitive reserve forest areas.
