Mumbai (RBI), Jan 11:  Former MLA Krishna Hegde has written to Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, urging him to take swift action against Ponzi scheme operators in the state.

In his letter, Hegde highlighted the fraudulent activities of several companies, including Bliss Consultants, Goodwin Jewellers, Ambar Dalal, and Torres Jewellers, which have allegedly duped thousands of investors of tens of thousands of crores by promising high returns or running entirely fraudulent schemes.

"While action has been taken against some operators, others are either on bail or absconding. Several Ponzi scheme operators are still active and continue to deceive investors," Hegde stated in his letter.

He further urged the chief minister to direct the police to launch an immediate crackdown on the remaining Ponzi scheme operators before they can deceive more unsuspecting investors.

Hegde also called for the CM to instruct the police to facilitate the refund of approximately Rs 170 crore from the Bliss Consultants scam. He suggested that this amount, which has been frozen in banks and properties, be refunded through court proceedings with the help of the government.

In addition, Hegde has moved the court to initiate the refund process for the affected investors.
