Mumbai, Jan 12: A 25-year-old man was arrested by the Oshiwara police for attempting to cheat during a police recruitment exam at Raigad Military School in Jogeshwari West on Saturday. The man’s unusual behavior and reliance on a discreet Bluetooth device led to his downfall.

The accused had concealed a tiny Bluetooth-enabled device deep inside his ear, connected to a SIM card, to receive answers during the test. His frequent habit of touching his ear aroused suspicion among examiners. Upon investigation, the supervisor discovered the device, exposing the elaborate cheating attempt.

Despite the sophisticated setup, the accused faced poor network reception during the exam. Desperate to improve the signal, he even visited the washroom, but his efforts were in vain. The police revealed that an accomplice outside the exam hall was dictating answers to him through the device.

The incident has sparked discussions about the need for stricter measures to prevent high-tech cheating in competitive exams. The Oshiwara police have registered a case, and further investigations are underway.
