Kasargod: Groom-to-be ends life by hanging near Meenja

Kasargod, Jan 24: In a tragic incident that occurred on Friday, January 24 evening near Meenja, Bejja, a 28-year-old man ended his life by hanging.

The deceased has been identified as Ajith Kumar from Bejja.

Ajith’s wedding was scheduled for February 2. He was found hanging from a tree near his house on Friday evening. Ajith worked at the Uppala branch of Majibail Cooperative Bank and was engaged to a young woman from Hosangadi.

On Friday, family members had gone to the market to purchase wedding items, leaving Ajith's uncle alone at home. It was during this time that the tragic act was carried out.

Later in the evening, family members noticed Ajith hanging from a mango tree in front of the house using a cable wire. Locals rushed him to the hospital, but he was declared dead on arrival.

Manjeshwar police have registered a case and are conducting an investigation.
