Udupi: Woman falls from bus, rushed to hospital in same vehicle

Udupi, Jan 28: A woman sustained serious injuries after losing her balance and accidentally falling while alighting from a bus near Puttur, Udupi. She was promptly taken to the hospital in the same bus by the public.

The injured woman, identified as Shantha (55), a resident of Hanumantha Nagar, Udupi, was unconscious at the time of rescue and suffered a severe fracture in her right arm.

Social worker Vishu Shetty, who assisted in taking her to the hospital, confirmed that doctors provided the necessary medical treatment and that she is now out of danger.

The traffic police and the woman’s relatives have been informed about the incident.

    So many of the vehicles that are on our roads are not even road worthy. There are no foot paths is most of Mangalore. So asking the bus companies to put doors on their existing busses (though it is a great idea) is possible if the busses are redesigned and that would jack up prices of travel considerably.

    Awake people ............still time , demand to implement doors and make sure the doors of each running buses remain closed . Or else very soon you will follow up with the new news that someone fell from the running bus and passed away.

    There was an order to install doors and no bus has implemented it. There is no action from the authorities. What is your Lord Siddadevaraya doing in this regard ?

    Myax kudla ,order is remained order .Noone has given a damm to it and govt also has not controlled and put any Punishment.So life goes on as before.Conductor doesnt even give time passanger to get down even to a senior citizen .Jappule jappule,bega bega ,he hurries.Hardly one sets a foot down ,bus is started to go forwards.Hope she is fine.and recovers from her fall
