Udupi: Bee attack at Volakadu school injures 40 students

Udupi, Jan 28: A bee attack at the premises of Volakadu School in the city left 40 students injured at around 3.30 pm on January 28.

District surgeon Dr Ashok Kumar informed that the injured students were treated at the Udupi district hospital.

Among them, three children have been admitted as inpatients at the government women and children’s hospital in the city, while one parent is receiving inpatient treatment at the district hospital. The remaining 37 students received outpatient care and were discharged to return home.

All the affected individuals are reported to be in stable condition, and there is no cause for concern.

    This was caused by a boy throwing stone at the bee nest... Ignorant fellow may or may not be... Unless severely disturbed bees never harm anyone... However we see such incidents every now and then these days... Wild bee stings can be deadly as we have learnt on few occasions... luckily all are safe...
