Mangaluru, Jan 30: MP Capt Brijesh Chowta laid the foundation stone for platform surfacing and shelter at Surathkal and Mulky railway stations on Thursday, January 30.

In addition to platform surfacing and shelter, the Mulky railway station will also undergo repairs, including improvements to the station approach road.

An year back I was traveling to Udupi from Bangalore in Train No-16585. When it stopped in Mulky, there was already a train in Platform-1. Mulky has only 1 platform. So our train stopped on additional line which does not have a platform. Passengers, especially elderly people had very difficulty getting down and make exit from station. New platform in Surathkal and Mulky are most urgent.
