Udupi, Feb 3: A bittersweet wave of nostalgia and excitement filled the air on February 1 as St Cecily’s English Medium Higher Primary School (CBSE) bid farewell to its first batch of grade 10 students. Hosted by students of grade 9, the farewell programme was a cherishing tribute to the graduating class, celebrating their journey, achievements, and the countless memories etched within the portals of the school walls.
The ceremony commenced with a solemn prayer service, seeking divine blessings for the outgoing Cecilians as they embark on a new chapter of their lives. This was beautifully complemented by a soul-stirring prayer dance, symbolizing gratitude, hope, and faith.
The ceremonial lamp kindled by the Principal Sr Lathika, vice principal Sr Lavi Shanthi, faculty Nisha, and representatives of grade 10 Kavana and Rahul was a symbolic illumination representing wisdom, enlightenment and bright future.
The warmth of the occasion was amplified by eloquent welcome speech by Muskaan. A thought-provoking skit titled ‘Grades are just a chapter… not the whole story’ delivered a powerful message success is not confined to marks and ranks, but rather, it is a journey of learning, resilience, and self-discovery.
Adding vibrancy to the celebration, an energetic dance performance to the song ‘All is Well’ uplifted the spirits of all present.
Bradley Denver Vaz took center stage to share his nostalgic moments, reminiscing about the friendships, lessons, and laughter that defined school days. The head girl, Vanshika Kotian, extended her best wishes, encouraging her seniors to embrace the future with confidence and perseverance.'
One of the most touching moments of the day was the screening of a specially curated video, recreating the beautiful memories of the graduating class.
As a gesture of love and appreciation, the students of grade 9 presented farewell gifts to their seniors, as a symbol of their admiration, gratitude, and well wishes.
The principal’s address was filled with wisdom and encouragement, urging the students to carry forward the Cecilian values instilled by the school and to live by the school’s motto ‘Let my life be a song of praise’.
Sejal Aneesha Kotian delivered the vote of thanks, expressing appreciation to all who contributed to making the farewell a memorable occasion.
