Kadaba, Feb 5: A tree fell on a moving bike on the Kadaba-Panja district main road, injuring the rider on Tuesday evening. The incident occurred before the memory of a similar accident, where a tree fell on a scooter rider, resulting in his death, could fade.

The injured rider, Yashavanth (42), a resident of Koppa in Kodimbala village and a pigmy collector for a private financial institution in Kadaba, was returning to Kadaba after collecting pigmy deposits from Edamangala. As he was passing through Tekadka in Kodimbala village on the Kadaba-Panja road, a hazardous Halumaddi tree suddenly fell on his bike.

A branch of the tree struck Yashavanth’s head, shattering his helmet. Fortunately, he survived due to wearing the helmet. He sustained minor injuries to his hands, legs, and head and was treated at Kadaba Government Hospital with the help of locals.

Kadaba police and forest officials visited the spot and conducted an inspection.
