Kasargod: 68-year-old Man Faces Sexual Harassment Complaint

Kasargod, Jan 19: A case stands registered in Manjeshwar police station in the district against a 68-year-old man, accusing him of sexually harassing an 11-year-old girl over a prolonged period.

It is learnt that the girl used to stay in an orphanage and attend school from there. Her mother and children were deserted by the girl’s father some time back. After this development, her mother arranged for the stay of the girl at the home of a senior citizen at Hosabettu.

The girl’s teacher, who observed that the student had been absenting from school since long, came home to enquire. The girl told her teacher about her sufferings at the hands of the man. The information was passed on to Childline at Kasargod, who gathered all the information and complained to the police circle inspector at Kumble. The girl told the invetigating officials that the man had sexually harassed her a number of times, duly threatening of imminent death, if she conveys this information to others.

Besides registering a case in Manjeshwar, the girl was subjected to medical tests in the government general college here.
