St Agnes School (CBSE) celebrates Girl Child & Literacy Day, Hindi Diwas with fervour

Mangaluru, Sep 9: St Agnes School CBSE, Bendur, celebrated Girl Child Day, Literacy Day, and Hindi Diwas with great enthusiasm and reverence in the school auditorium. The event aimed at spreading awareness about the significance of educating the girl child, the value of literacy in shaping society, and the importance of Hindi as national language.

The programme was graced by our esteemed chief guest, Michelle, a dedicated and inspiring teacher well known for her commitment to holistic education, her affectionate rapport with students, and her constant encouragement to uphold values of equality and respect. Her presence added charm and meaning to the celebration.

The event began with an introduction by the MCs, Shraddha DS and Shaikh Sumaiya, who warmly welcomed the gathering. This was followed by a solemn prayer service, invoking God’s blessings on the occasion. A graceful prayer dance was then presented by the students, creating a serene and devotional atmosphere.

Next, Preshal Pinto delivered the welcome speech, extending heartfelt greetings to the chief guest, the staff, and students. To further express joy and hospitality, the students performed a vibrant welcome dance, which was greatly appreciated by the audience.

The programme then moved into the thematic segments. Nehal Anchan spoke on the significance of Hindi Diwas, highlighting the pride and unity that comes from our national language. This was followed by a lively Nukkad Natak in Hindi, performed by the students to emphasize the richness and cultural value of Hindi.

Shifting focus to Girl Child Day, Michelle Paul addressed the gathering with a thought-provoking speech on the significance of the girl child, underlining the need for equal opportunities and respect for every girl. A powerful dance drama was then staged, portraying the struggles and triumphs of the girl child, which left a strong impact on the audience.

The highlight of the day was the address by our chief guest, Tr Michelle. In her inspiring message, she emphasized the role of education in empowering individuals, the duty of every student to uphold the dignity of the girl child, and the importance of respecting and promoting our national language, Hindi. Her words motivated the students to become responsible citizens who value equality, literacy, and cultural pride.

Towards the end, Nikisha proposed the vote of thanks, expressing heartfelt gratitude to the chief guest, principal, teachers, students, and all who contributed to making the celebration a success.

The programme concluded on a positive note, leaving everyone inspired with the values of empowerment, literacy, and cultural pride. It was indeed a meaningful celebration that combined awareness with creativity, reminding students of their role in building a just and educated society.
