Mangaluru, Oct 2: The Cloistered Carmel Sisters of Sacred Heart Monastery, Kankanady, joyfully celebrated the centenary of the Sainthood and the Solemnity of St Thérèse of Child Jesus from September 28 to October 1. The celebration was marked by an exhibition on the life of St Thérèse of Lisieux, which drew many faithful to reflect on her simple yet profound spirituality.

The Triduum was observed on September 28, 29, and 30, preparing the faithful for the feast. On the feast day, October 1, the Eucharistic Adoration was prayerfully led by Fr Ligoury Crasta, creating a deeply spiritual atmosphere before the Solemn Eucharistic celebration.

The main celebrant of the feast day Mass was Dr Pius James D’Souza OCD, definitor general, who highlighted in his homily the inspiring life and virtues of St Thérèse, encouraging the faithful to follow her “Little Way” of love and sacrifice in their daily lives.

The Solemn Eucharist was co-celebrated by Fr Philbert, Fr Vinod, Fr Richard, Fr Ratan, Fr Ligoury, Fr Gregory, and Fr Barochas, adding to the grace and solemnity of the occasion. The presence of the concelebrants and the participation of the faithful made the celebration a moment of thanksgiving and renewal of faith.

The Cloistered Carmel Sisters expressed their gratitude to all who joined them in prayer and devotion, making the centenary of Sainthood of St Thérèse of Child Jesus a memorable and grace-filled event.
