Bengaluru, Oct 21: Karnataka Milk Federation’s (KMF) Nandini brand has set a new record by selling 1,100 metric tonnes of sweet products during the Dasara and Deepavali festivals, said minister K Venkatesh.

Speaking at Vidhana Soudha, the minister said, “Every year, there is a huge demand for sweets across the state during Dasara and Deepavali. In anticipation of the festive demand, KMF made advance preparations to produce and market over 40 varieties of sweets under the Nandini brand. For the 2025 festive season, considering the additional demand, a target of 1,000 metric tonnes was set, with detailed planning initiated two months in advance in coordination with all member milk unions. Surpassing the target, KMF and its member unions collectively sold 1,100 metric tonnes of sweets, achieving a record business turnover of Rs 46 crore. This marks a 38% growth in sales compared to the previous year and is the highest ever in KMF’s history,” he stated.

Highlighting KMF’s contribution to the dairy sector, Venkatesh added, “For over five decades, the Karnataka Milk Federation has played a major role in the state’s dairy and cooperative sectors. On average, one crore litres of milk are collected daily from farmers across the state, of which about 65 lakh litres of milk, curd, and UHT milk products are supplied to consumers in Karnataka and other states.”

He further said, “Under the Nandini brand, over 175 varieties of milk and milk-based products including ghee, butter, paneer, sweets, milk powder, and beverages are successfully marketed in neighbouring states such as Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Tamil Nadu, Maharashtra, Goa, Kerala, as well as in Delhi, Assam, and some foreign markets. The purity, quality, and affordability of milk and milk products have made the Nandini brand a symbol of trust among consumers.”
