Mangaluru, Nov 21: A beach cleanliness programme was successfully conducted on Friday November 21, at Tannirbavi Beach by the students of the High school, pre-university and degree sections of LCR Indian Educational Institution, under the auspices of the Padegutthu Lingappa Master Memorial Education Trust (R). Students, teaching and non-teaching staff, and invited guests actively participated in collecting waste, removing plastic, and creating awareness on waste segregation and beach conservation.
The programme was graced by chief guests Yathish Rai, president of the Dakshina Kannada Swimming Association, and Rajani and Damodara Shetty from the Animal Rescue and Animal Feeding Centre.












Institutional leaders present included Babitha R Nath, president; Shivani R Nath, secretary; Jayani R Nath, trustee; Joston Lobo, principal; Yashawanth G Nayak, coordinator; Deekshitha, head of degree section; and Soumya N, head of PUC section, along with faculty and staff members.
Trustee Yajnesh Raj welcomed the guests, staff and students, and delivered the vote of thanks. He emphasized that environmental protection, marine life conservation, and community service are the responsibility of every citizen.
The management appreciated the initiative, noting that such programmes play a vital role in developing responsible citizenship and environmental awareness among students while encouraging active involvement in socially meaningful activities.
