Udupi, Nov 21: Konkan Railway staff once again demonstrated their commitment to passenger safety and social responsibility by rescuing a missing 14-year-old boy who was travelling alone on Train No. 12619 Matsyagandha Express.

On November 20, 2025, Pradeep Z Shrike, head ticket examiner, noticed the boy in a school uniform travelling without a ticket in the general coach. Finding the situation suspicious, he questioned the child and learned that he had run away from home.

He immediately alerted the commercial control team and sought assistance from the Railway Protection Force at Ratnagiri station.

The RPF personnel promptly responded, took the boy into safe custody, and initiated procedures for his safe handover. It was later confirmed that the child had gone missing from his school in Vasco, and his parents had been seeking public assistance to trace him.

The missing boy has since been safely reunited with his family.
