Beltangady: Two held for motorcycle theft; stolen vehicle recovered

Beltangady, Nov 21: Two persons have been taken into custody in connection with the theft of a motorcycle parked near the Panuru Shree Guru Narayana Circle in the Venur police limits.

According to Venur police, a case had been registered under Crime No 88/2025 and Section 303 (2) of the BNS 2023 after a motorcycle bearing registration number KA 18 J 6348 was stolen on the night of November 10. The vehicle belonged to Sampath Kumar, 28, a resident of Kukkedi in Beltangady.

During the investigation, the police apprehended two accused identified as Muhammad Irshad, 25, of Venur and Sadiq Khan, 26, of Padangadi. The stolen motorcycle was recovered from their possession. The accused were produced before the court, which remanded them to judicial custody.

The operation was carried out under the directions of DySP Rohini C K and the guidance of Circle Inspector B G Subbapoor Math. The Venur police team included Sub-Inspector Akshay Davagi, ASI Venkatesh Naik, HC 405 Krishna, MHC 913 Keshavathi, PC 2466 Basavaraj and PC 434 Mohan.
