Chennai, Nov 26: Gee Gee AS, daughter of an electrician, has secured an All India Rank of 25 in the UPSC Civil Services Examination 2024, achieving her long-held dream in her third attempt. Raised in a modest household, with her mother a homemaker and her brother a social worker, she is the first in her family to enter the civil services.

A former student of Jaigpal Garodia Matriculation Higher Secondary School, Kolathur, she completed her B Com at Stella Maris College in 2021. She was further inspired by the work of the Chennai Corporation, especially the cleanliness and beautification initiatives undertaken during the tenure of former commissioner Gagandeep Singh Bedi. She later said these efforts convinced her that effective administrative models could be replicated across the country.

After deciding to prepare seriously, she joined a foundation course at Aram and relied on coaching centres and study material for her prelims, mains and interview preparation.

Hoping to improve her rank, she attempted the exam again but was unsuccessful. In her third attempt, she secured AIR 25, placing herself among the top achievers in the country. She chose Tamil literature as her optional subject.

With her new rank, she ijoined the Indian Foreign Service, driven by her interest in international relations and aspiration to work in diplomacy and serve Indian immigrants worldwide.
