Mangaluru: Scientific talent displayed at St Mary’s High School

Mangaluru, Dec 13: St Mary’s High School, Falnir, successfully organized a Science Exhibition on December 12, aimed at promoting scientific curiosity and innovation among students. The programme was inaugurated by the chief guest Dr A K Jamaal, whose inspiring message emphasized the role of scientific thinking in shaping young minds.

Headmistress Sr Sylvia, joint secretary Sr Celine Vera AC – St Marys Institution, PTA representative Kusumavathi, and former Mariette’s assistant general secretary Lydith Pinto were also present on the dais and graced the occasion with their valuable presence.

The programme began with a warm welcome to the gathering by teacher Ravitha. The event was compered by teacher Prameela, who efficiently coordinated the proceedings. The introduction of the chief guest was presented by teacher Shalet.

Students from various classes showcased a variety of working and non-working models based on themes such as environment conservation, renewable energy, robotics, agriculture, health & hygiene, and space science. Their creativity, confidence, and scientific understanding were truly commendable.

The exhibition received enthusiastic participation from parents, students of neighbouring schools, and lecturers from nearby colleges. A panel of judges evaluated the exhibits on originality, scientific relevance, presentation skills, and practical application. Outstanding projects will be awarded with certificates.

The entire programme was organized under the leadership of the assistant headmistress and exhibition in-charge, Sr Maria Spurthi AC. The event concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks delivered by Sr Maria Spurthi AC, who expressed gratitude to the management, staff, students, parents, and guests for contributing to the success of the exhibition.

Overall, the science exhibition served as an enriching platform that nurtured scientific temper, teamwork, and creativity among students.
