Mangaluru: Car rams into tanker; MDMA worth several lacs seized

Mangaluru, Dec 16: Two persons were injured after a car rammed into the rear of a tanker at Talapady in the early hours of Tuesday, December 16. The incident has taken a serious turn after prohibited MDMA, reportedly worth several lacs of rupees, was found inside the car.

The injured have been identified as Pallam Siddique and Manimunda Adam. Local residents rushed them to a hospital in Mangaluru in an ambulance.

Following the accident, locals noticed suspected narcotic substances inside the vehicle and alerted the police. Acting on the information, traffic police registered an accident case and seized 130 grams of prohibited MDMA from the car. The seized contraband is estimated to be worth several lacs of rupees.

Ullal police have taken up further investigation into the matter.
