Padukere murder case: Four accused remanded to judicial custody

Brahmavar, Dec 17: In connection with the murder of a youth reported at Padukere in Kotatattu on December 14, the four accused were produced before the Udupi court and remanded to judicial custody.

The murder occurred following a quarrel among friends under the influence of alcohol. The deceased Santosh Mogaveera (31), a local resident and an employee of a private bank.

The accused — Darshan of Parampalli, Kaushik Pandeshwar, Ankit and Sujan of Padukere in Kotatattu — were arrested by the police.

Based on a complaint lodged by Rajath, a relative of the deceased and an eyewitness to the incident, a murder case was registered.

Preliminary information suggests that the immediate provocation for the crime included abusive language directed at family members and a dispute related to a woman.

Further details are expected to emerge after detailed interrogation, and the police are likely to seek custodial interrogation of the accused.
