Bengaluru, Jan 17: The Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA) on Friday commenced the process of accepting online applications for the Undergraduate Common Entrance Test (UGCET) 2026 for students aspiring to pursue professional courses.

The entrance test is mandatory for admission to courses including engineering, veterinary sciences, BSc and nursing, among others.

KEA director H Prasanna said that the online application process for professional courses for 2026 has begun and the last date to apply is February 16. “The application link has been made available on the KEA website. Seat allocation for professional courses will be done only through CET counselling, while NEET scores will be considered for medical courses,” he clarified.

He further stated that this year’s application process is Aadhaar-based, and candidate details such as name will be auto-populated once the Aadhaar number is entered. To ensure accuracy and transparency, KEA has introduced a system to verify each stage of information submission through email confirmation and OTP authentication.

In addition, candidates will also receive updates through WhatsApp messages. “All college staff have undergone 10 days of online training, and students can seek assistance from their teachers whenever required,” Prasanna said.

The UGCET examination is scheduled to be held on April 23 and 24, he added.
