Puttur, Feb 7: Police have arrested three individuals, including a ganja supplier from Odisha, in connection with the seizure of 1 quintal 6 kg and 50 grams of ganja valued at Rs 53.03 lac under the jurisdiction of Puttur Rural police station on January 19, 2026.
Continuing the investigation, Mohammed Fayaz D K (27), a resident of Charmadi in Belthangady, and Nazir (42), a resident of Kakkinje in Belthangady, were taken into custody for arranging funds and vehicles for those involved in the case, police said.

The main supplier, Deepak Patra (37) of Odisha, who allegedly supplied ganja to the accused, was also arrested. Acting under the leadership of Puttur sub-divisional police officer Pramod Kumar, a special investigation team travelled to Odisha to apprehend him. During the operation, ganja weighing 1 kg and 788 grams, valued at Rs 80,000, was recovered.
The operation was carried out by a team comprising sub-divisional police officer Pramod Kumar, Puttur Rural police sub-inspector Gunapala J, and personnel Devaraj, Harshith, Prashanth, Adrama, Prashanth Rai, Praveen Rai, Subramani, Bheemasena, Suresh and Divyaprakash.
