Kaup: Series of accidents at Dandatheertha, Kothalkatte; three including schoolboy injured

Kaup, Mar 7: Three persons, including a schoolboy, were injured and four vehicles were damaged in two separate accidents that occurred within a gap of fifteen minutes near Dandatheertha and Kothalkatte at Uliargoli on National Highway 66 on Friday evening.

Near Dandatheertha, a bike reportedly rammed into a car and subsequently hit a mother and her child who were waiting for a bus after picking up the child from a playschool. In the accident, LKG student Gaurav of a local school and the bike rider Mahesh, a staff member of Pashu Sanjeevini, sustained serious injuries. The injured bike rider and the child were admitted to a hospital in Udupi by local residents. The car and the bike were damaged in the mishap.

In another incident near Kothalkatte, a car travelling towards Udupi collided with an auto-rickshaw, resulting in damage to both vehicles. The auto-rickshaw driver sustained a head injury. The auto-rickshaw overturned on the road and the mangoes being transported in it were scattered across the road. The injured person was admitted to a hospital in Udupi.

Kaup police visited both the accident spots, conducted an inspection, and registered cases.
