IRGC naval chief Alireza Tangsiri reportedly killed in strike in southern Iran

Daijiworld Media Network - Tehran

Tehran, Mar 26: Alireza Tangsiri, commander of the naval wing of Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), has reportedly been killed in a strike in southern Iran, according to an Israeli official.

Tangsiri was said to have been targeted in the port city of Bandar Abbas, a key location along the strategically vital Strait of Hormuz.

The Israeli official claimed that Tangsiri had been overseeing operations related to the closure of the Strait of Hormuz amid the ongoing conflict.

There was no immediate confirmation from Iranian authorities, and the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) has not commented on the reported strike.

If confirmed, the development would mark a significant blow to Iran’s military leadership, particularly its naval operations in the Persian Gulf region.

The conflict, now entering its fourth week, has seen a series of high-profile casualties and escalating tensions across the region.

This is a developing story.
