Battered Baby Falak Dies of Cardiac Arrest

New Delhi, Mar 15 (IANS): After battling for life at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences for almost 60 days, two-year-old battered baby Falak died late Thursday of cardiac arrest, a doctor said.

"The baby died of cardiac arrest. She suffered cardiac arrest at 9 p.m. and was declared dead at 9.40 p.m," Deepak Agrawal, assistant professor neurosurgery at AIIMS, told IANS.

AIIMS Trauma Centre chief M.C. Misra said the baby had fluctuations in her heart rate since morning.

"We tried to revive when she had the attack at 9 p.m. but sadly we couldn't," he told IANS.

According to Agrawal, the baby's heart had weakened due to cardiac arrests on two previous consecutive occasions - Jan 20 and 21.

"The atmosphere is very grim in the hospital because all the staff was emotionally attached to her," he added.

The toddler had been battling for survival at AIIMS since she admitted with a fractured skull, bruises and human bite marks all over her body. Falak had undergone five life-saving surgeries.

Doctors March 9 had said that her condition had improved "nicely" and that she was likely to be discharged in a week's time.

Baby Falak you now safe in the hands of God where no one can harm you anymore. May your soul rest in eternal peace. I really appreciate the efforts of the Doctors of All India Institute of Medical Science who tried their level best to keep the child Falak alive for 60 days. But it was God's will.

Shocking to read some people's comments. GOD DOES NOT TAKE LIFE. we are living in a fallen world. Things happen to us due to the fallen nature of human beings. This baby has lost her precious life because of the brutal actions of the people who live by the sword and will also die by the sword!!

Deep Down i always felt how would the future of this baby would be like , when she had gone through so much of torture through Human Rouge's , Finally Lord decided what is best for the kid , he will also complete what is pending , the Divine justice for the people who made this infant go through pain , Pains to even re-collect what she went through . RIP Baby Falak .

My God what pain must have gone through, how much that little angel must have suffered. Lord why this human being so cruel, How can they punish this little child by breaking the skull, keeping hot iron, and as they found all over human biting Marks and wounds. My god good you took that child away, now she is happy and very safe in your hands my lord. But Lord punish them who ever tortured that child and beless them who ever helped that child in double.

She is an angel, separated from the bunch for a while, now re-united to the bunch in Heaven. Angel Falak, there may be many more Falak's suffering around the world, save them too and take them into your fold. May your soul rest in peace.

We have thousands of Falaks in our country. The girl child thousands of them killed before they are born. Unwelcomed she gets in this world, treated always second to her brother, used to do all the household works, live always by leftovers by male siblings, never get importance in education, married off and packed away to the husbands house, bear all the pains and tortures, if survived of dowry harrasment, always depend on parent, brothers, husband or sons. That is why Falak didnot want to live in India.

This was the death of humanity,
    death of our future.
This was the death of tomorrow’s sunshine.
    death of ………………………….

Why don’t a country like our’s have a very powerful law on these issues.
I think it’s the best time when we have female President to get these law in place.
A law by itself speaks “death to the person and to immediate family too which does such coward acts”.
so no one even dares to think of such acts.

I am still thinking what that 2 year old baby might have done so that butchers got so wild and kept iron box on her? A 2 year baby barely can talk and do anything. Might have drunk owner’s kid’s glass of milk or broken playing things.
I am crying here by just thinking how much this baby may have cried during that time. We, elders can’t even bare slight pain…God! I just want to throw at least a stone on the culprits if justice not done.
