Bantwal, Jul 19: 'Laudato Si' Sunday 2026, along with an information and demonstration session on rainwater harvesting, was held at the Loretto Church in Bantwal taluk on Sunday, July 19.

The programme was jointly organised by the church's environment commission, youth commission, ICYM, and Catholic Sabha. Resource person Chandappa Moolya provided valuable information and gave a practical demonstration on the importance and methods of rainwater harvesting.

Highlighting the environmental focus of the day, parish priest Fr James D'Souza explained the significance of the programme. The event concluded on a green note with the planting of a sapling.

Parish priest Fr James D'Souza, principal Fr Jason Monis, church vice president Isaac Vas, secretary Alwyn Pinto, all commissions coordinator Sachin Noronha, environment commission convener Richard Miranda, youth commission secretary Jason Fonseca, and ICYM president Shaina Rodrigues were present on the occasion.
