Puttur, Jul 24: An 11-year-old boy was injured after a Tata Ace goods vehicle overturned near Kapu, close to Sediyapu, on Wednesday, July 23.

The mishap occurred when Abdul Majeed, a resident of Sanyasigudde in Koila, was driving the Tata Ace from Uppinangady towards Puttur. The vehicle reportedly veered off the road after its wheels slipped off the edge of the carriageway and overturned.

Mohammed Ameen (11), son of Abdul Majeed, who was travelling in the vehicle, sustained injuries in the accident.

According to locals, concrete road works were recently completed at the spot, but soil has not yet been filled along the road shoulders, leaving a deep drop at the edges. In addition, divider construction is still incomplete, increasing the risk of accidents if motorists lose control even momentarily.

A case has been registered at the Puttur Traffic police station.
