Udupi, Jul 24: A 42-year-old auto-rickshaw driver was found dead at his residence in Madhvanagar, Adi Udupi, late on Wednesday night.
The deceased has been identified as Surendra Madhvanagar, a member of the Adi Udupi auto-rickshaw stand. Family members reportedly found him after the incident at their house.
According to sources, Surendra, known for his humble nature, had purchased a new auto-rickshaw about a week ago.
The exact reason behind the death is not yet known.
Personnel from the Malpe police station visited the spot, conducted a preliminary inspection and have registered a case. Further investigation is under way.
