Bhatkal: ‘Royal Cup-2012’ Cricket Tournament on April 22

The Royal Sports Center will be organizing Royal Cup-2012, taluk level leather ball cricket tournament on Sunday April 22. The tournament is like the world cup which is held once in every four years. This is the fourth mega royal cup.

The opening ceremony will be held on Sunday April 22 afternoon. There will be a  rally held by the  28 teams from Barni Matti near Royal Club to the Al Hilaal Mountain ground.

A short programme will be held at Al Hilaal Mountain ground after the teams arrive around 4.30 pm.

Police commissioner Siman Kumar will be the chief guest. Guest of honour, Prashant Deshpande, son of RV Deshpande, R V Memorial Trust Haliyaal, DYSP M Narayan, TMC president Inayatullah Shahbandari, convener of the Royal Cup, Hizurrahman Barmavar, and others will be present.

As many as 28 teams will be participating in the tournament.  On Monday April 23, first match will be played between the teams Assadullah and Al Hilaal and second match will be played between the teams Anfa and Nsa Manki. All the 28 teams will wear attire sponsored by Royal Sports.


The matches will be played of 25 over. Two matches will be played daily at 8.30 am and 1.30 pm.
