Mumbai, Sep 1: The initiation for the construction of Kalajagattu Amma Chawadi was recently held here in Mashe Gaun, Murbad near Kalyan.
Blue print of the Amma Chawadi was thoroughly checked and viewed by the president of Kalajagattu Amma Chawadi, state award winner, drama artist, Thonse Vijaykumar Shetty, convener of Chawadi, Rathnakar Shetty of Vihang group of hotels and all the 27 trustees.
A total of ten acres of land has been purchased for the construction purpose in Mashe Gaon, a place of nature’s beauty and co-existence. There is even a scope for the introduction of traditional farming and cattle breeding, as the land is level and filled with greenery with a river very next to this plot. In the initial stage, a main Tharavadu house, small cottages, mini auditorium, free medical centre for the senior citizens, ayurveda and natural therapy centre will be constructed.
Along with the breeding of cattle and buffaloes, the two acres of the land will be allotted for the traditional Tulunadu way of farming. Variety of vegetables, fruits, flowers will also be cultivated in this land, said Vijay Kumar Shetty, the president.
Amma Chawadi is planned to be constructed in Mashe Gaon which is located just 2.5 hours from Thane Shahar. The total information on the development and construction work of the Chawadi was given to the 27 members of the Chawadi, by Rathnakar Shetty, the convenor.
The main concept behind this plan is to bring the people out from their busy schedule, the city stress, to give them mental relaxation and comfortability, and to make the place as a weekend spot for all the ages, especially for the children and the senior citizens as they can glare through this place with a view of curiosity and get knowledge about Tulunadu tradition, culture and practices, infact a special place to hang out.
