Kingfisher Leaves Employees in Dark on Diwali

Mumbai, Nov 13 (PTI): Around 3,000 employees of the near-bankrupt Kingfisher Airlines were left in the dark on Diwali after the management failed to pay their May salary, despite its commitment that their dues will be cleared by the festival.

"3,000 employees got a Diwali gift from chairman Vijay Mallya in the form of no salary despite his commitment," airline sources told PTI.

"It is a dark Diwali for us. The management has once again failed to keep its commitment on payment of salary dues. We did not receive salaries in our account till late last night, although the management had made tall claims of clearing our dues by the festival," the sources said.

The airline, which is grounded since October 1 after its engineers and pilots went on strike demanding payment of their salary dues, has not paid its employees since May this year.

The employees, however, called off their strike late last month after the airline's chief executive, Sanjay Agarwal pleaded them to return to work and assured that they will receive their three-month salaries in staggered schedule by Diwali.

Aviation regulator DGCA suspended Kingfisher's flying licence and asked the airlines to submit a revival plan if it wants to fly again.

The airline spokesperson was not available for comment.

If it was done by any other ordinary businessman till now govt would have put the man in PRISION but Mallya know how to control the politicians by UB Spirit and Kingfisher calender girls.

Anyone sympathising KFA employees is a fool. They're digging their own grave. They had ample time to look for alternative employment. But perhaps their ego is holding them back. No more sympathies to KFA employees.

There is a strong rumor that KFA was started with a majority of Sharad Pawar and Praful Patel's money. Now with the airline going belly up, KFA has no money to pay back the investors. Maybe Sharad pawar has to sell some portion of Lavasa development of which he is major shareholder to get KFA up and running, which he might be unwilling to do, and which Mallya might be insisting on, to bring in more capital.

Do you want to teach “Sabak” to Mallya? then let us all stop drinking Kingfisher Beer from today onwards. Let people even stop his “Doodhwala” to supply milk to his residence everywhere in India. Let all filling stations stop refilling fuel to KFA and Mallya’s vehicles with immediate effect. Let all the Temples in India stop accepting donations in cash or kind from Mallya or from his Family Members. Yes friends “Together We Can” teach simple lesson to any an arrogant person with no time

As claimed by Mallya himself few days back in one of the Kannada News Paper Interview, Kingfisher wanted to make their brand popular not only in India but in International Market too by showing 5 US$ note as 500 US$ note. Because in India, any promotional advertisement in Liquor and Tobacco is not allowed due to adverse affect on health related issues which is true. Mallya did succeed in branding his breweries business beyond its capacity and now he doesn’t want or feel it is time to put full stop. Purposely KFA accumulated huge debts in the Market though he can repay it easily from other Companies sources but not. And secondly, he plays his trump card by showing huge debts as a tool for closure of KFA whereby attracting Government’s attention to get some aid and run the business as usual. But our Political Leaders are so smart that, if they don’t get any benefit from KFA revival they are not at all interested in this business. Who says our Corporate utives or Political Leaders are not smart!!! In fact given an opportunity they will run the Government of USA or all Europe Countries without any problem. Do you want to bend our Politicians or CEOs’? Then just throw huge amounts in foreign currency in the “Gutter” and you see the Drainage will get cleaned for that money. Finally who cares for Employees in any Corporate Sectors? For few days they waste their time for “Morcha or Hadthal” then slowly they vanish & start looking for other source of income by finding odd jobs. And our highly respected CEOs’ MDs’ MPs’ or MLS’s will go on foreign tour to study global scenario to learn “How best they can dupe Employees next time”

Sanjay Agarwal, you being a CEO of KFA should know better about the situation of the company. Please do not give false promise to the hard working employees about the salaries being paid on time with the back wages. You are playing games with these employees who depend on your false promises and that to at this time of the festive season. You know they are seeing a DARK DIWALI.

If you cannot control the situation or control yourself you live the situation and give a chance to others or to depend on God. You are fully failure. The nature will take care of the situation.

Kingfisher is the biggest tragedy in Indian corporate world. It was launched with much fanfare but badly managed. Crores of public funds lost - Loans from PSU banks ! The KF staff were the prime attraction like KF annual calendar and today they are penniless. Some KF have borrowed and have none to pay the loans, cards, property and EMIs ! Mallya maam has sold the United Spirits yesterday to Diageo I doubt whether he will fund the KF revival ?

Mr. Mallya is bold and nothing can shake him. There is no point of being jealous for his flamboyant lifestyle. Had someone else in his place, he would have gone crazy all this financial mess around him.It looks like he enjoys some strong backing from top brasses. The strike by his few thousand employees not going to change his thoughts and decision.

His staff should start looking for new openings, instead of clinging to the defunct airline company.

This is terribly sad to see that the employees are not paid for months! How, they can pay the bills? The Government of India has to take some stern actions at first to pay the employees. There is no hope for KF to fly again with all the debt in billions of dollars and the negative publicity
popping up on a daily basis. Who would dare to book a ticket in KF?

This shameless playboy (Vijay Mallaya), has paid good amount of donation to both the major corrupt political parties of India. Hence none of them are raising their voice against the injustice being meted out to the poor and helpless employees. This is the kind of good goverance the common man gets in a great democratic country like India.

Mr Vijay Mallya, Chairman of UB Group, says Kingfisher is bankrupt but for the most this airline is not bankrupt it is only because the airline wants to get rid of something or change some arrangement drastically and this is the only “legal” way. Mr Mallya is a very good actor he still has money to buy cricketers but can’t pay his staff their honest salary. Shame on you Mr. Show off.

Not paying employees salaries is a offence as per labour law. The concerned court must direct the Kingfisher to pay the salaries or else attach the company properties and disburse employees dues.
