Mangalore, Jul 29: The bicycle has a vague history about its beginnings, but definitely, whoever made this amazing contraption for easy, pollution-free, and healthy means of travelling would never have thought that there would come a day when it could actually be ridden on water.
Yes, you read that right... bicycle ridden on water.
A 17-year-old boy has invented a floating bicycle. Now that's what you call 'water cycle' of a different kind!
Ahmed Rizauddin, son of Abdul Rahim and Asma, and a student of Infant Jesus Joyland School, Bolar, is the young inventor.
And he has built this one-of-a-kind bicycle with the help of just two lorry tyre tubes, stainless steel and iron rods.
Speaking to Daijiworld, Rahim says, “Rizauddin, from his childhood, was keen on technical stuff. He has also invented ‘Spiderman’ using the umbrella, a music system that is powered by a dynamo, and some other devices.”
Rizauddin says, “My father and his stories about his childhood days inspired me to invent this. The floating bicycle moves with the help of Pelton wheel. One side of the bicycle’s front wheel is covered with stainless steel and the other side is open, which will enable the rider to move in left or right direction.”
What's more, this bicycle can carry three persons at a time, which is more what a regular bicycle on land can do. Hilmee from class 7, Sharan from class 8, and Rahil from class 9, helped Rizauddin to prepare this model.
The young genius has also been selected for a state-level exhibition.
Next time you want to cross a lake, do think of riding your way to the other side!
