Mangalore: ICYM Kinnigoli organizes 'Nrathyothsava' contest

Mangalore, Sep 4: ‘Dance is the hidden language of the soul’; this statement was highlighted by the students of 16 schools in the vicinity of Kinnigoli with their mind-blowing dance performances in the ‘Dance Fest 2013’ organized by Indian Catholic Youth Movement Kinnigoli Deanery in the auditorium of Kinnigoli parish on the occasion of its jubilee celebrations.

The participated schools are as follows: St Mary’s Central School, Kinnigoli, Sri  Vyasa Mahasri Vidya Pita, Mulki, Maryvale  Higher  Primary School, Kinnigoli, St. Paul’s  Higher  Primary School, Balkunje Rotary  English  Medium School, Mudubidri, D.J English Medium School, Mudubidri, St. Lawarence Indian School, Kinnigoly, Pompei Higher Primary School, Kirem, Rotary English Medium School, Kinnigoly, Maryvale High School, Kinnigoly, Little Flower High School, Kinnigoly, Pompei High School, Kirem, CSI English Medium High School, Mulki, Holy Family High School, Bajpe.

The programme began with a hymn by ICYM members. Then the dancing extravaganza unfolded in a grand fashion with more than two hundred young talents showcasing their scintillating dancing skills. They performed in different dancing forms such as folk, patriotic, filmy dance in different languages in front of a huge crowd. They were judged by three eminent personalities such as Pramod Alva (chief of Ocean Kids dance group, Mangalore), Pawan B N (Choreographer of Wanted Boys, Puttur), Paneeta Pinto (renowned dancer).

This was followed by the valedictory function presided by Fr Alfred Pinto, Vicar Vara of Kinnigoli Deanery who delivered his inspirational message. Melreeda Rodrigues welcomed the gathering. Fr Vinod Lobo, director of ICYM Kinngoli Deanery, Fr Maxim Pinto, assistant director of ICYM Kinngoli Deanery, Lionel Pinto the vice president of Kinnigoli Parish, Valerian Sequeira, the secretary of Kinnigoli Parish, Melody Rodrigues, the cultural secretary , Loyd Pinto, president of ICYM Kinngoli Unit were present on the dais. The winners were awarded the sizzling trophies and certificates.

Manoj Fernandes, the secretary of ICYM Kinnigoli Deanery proposed vote of thanks. Winona Cardoza and Joyline Fernandes compared. Thus the 'Dance Fest 2013' provided a great platform to the kids to exhibit their wonderful talents.
