Mangalore, Mar 11: The police led by Panambur SI Dharmendra have arrested 4 persons at Panambur for cattle running on Saturday March 11 morning.

The Panambur police got into operation after receiving a tip off about the illegal cattle running at 1.30 am on Saturday.  Accordingly, police tightened security and erected a barricade near MCF on National Highway 17.  However, it was only in the wee hours of Saturday morning that they spotted a tempo coming to the city.

When they stopped the tempo, they found 18 cows including a calf.  Immediately, police seized the tempo along with the cattle and arrested Ashraf, Taslim, Harris and Ashim who were in the tempo.  The arrested were illegally transporting cattle to Kudroli slaughterhouse from Krishnapur.
