Will quit if I have lost your confidence: Uddhav to Sena cadre

Mumbai, Oct 14 (PTI): Seeking to strike an emotional note at the first annual Dussehra rally of Shiv Sena after the death of its founder Bal Thackeray, party president Uddhav Thackeray today said he was ready to quit if the cadre had no faith in him.

"If you feel that I have lost your confidence, then I will step down. I am ready to leave this stage," Uddhav said.

Though he did not mention it, his statement came against the backdrop of indirect criticism of his relatively mild style of leadership by the veteran Sena leader Manohar Joshi earlier this week.

Incidentally, Joshi, who was present on the dais today, had to leave before the main function began when party workers shouted slogans against him.

Targeting NCP chief Sharad Pawar, Uddhav said in his speech that the latter was still nursing his prime ministerial ambitions.

"Pawar criticised (Narendra) Modi after he was named BJP's prime ministerial nominee. But what about Pawar who himself has not shed the aspiration of becoming the Prime Minister?" Uddahav asked.

The Sena president also claimed that before nominating Modi as BJP's candidate, Rajnath Singh had called him and sought his assent. "I told him (Singh) that Shiv Sena strongly supports BJP and Modi," Uddhav added.

He also criticised Maharashtra Chief Minister Prithviraj Chavan for government's failure to arrest the killers of anti-superstition activist Narendra Dabholkar.

Referring to Chavan's statement that "fascist" groups could be the culprits in Dabholkar murder case, Uddhav said, "If it was done by the people with fascist ideology, then why has the government still not nabbed the accused?"

Criticising the government for keeping former army officer Srikant Purohit and Sadhvi Pragya Singh Thakur (both accused in 2008 Malegaon blast case) in jail, he said Sharad Pawar had called Ishrat Jahan, the girl who died in encounter with Gujarat police, (an encounter dubbed by CBI as fake) "innocent".

"Does Sharad Pawar have more information than David Coleman Headley, the mastermind in 26/11 terror attacks, who had said that Ishrat was a terrorist?" he asked.

He also asked as to why the culprits of irrigation scam in the state had not yet been arrested.

The agitation against the Non-Marathis with the slogan “amchi mati, amchi manse” is the result of outsiders dominating the natives. In the 60s and early 70s almost all jobs were occupied by non-Maharashtrians, be it in private offices, banks or factories. Moreover the Mallus are responsible for such a situation. If one among them succeeds in getting a job in a company, then within a year all top to bottom positions will be filled by them. They would never allow a non-Mallu to enter that company. Those who had been already working will somehow be made to quit. Further they would dominate over people of other states and impose their own language and culture. Same is the situation today in Bangalore or Mangalore. The day is not far when Shiv Sena type of organization will rise up in Karnataka with the slogan “namma mannu, namma jana.”

Shiv Sena a party of it's ideology resembles somewhat to a communal one!!.It's logo Amchi Maharastra!! looks bit pale in front of our vibrant democracy.Mumbai's major business is mostly run by North Indians and south Indians. It is my earlier days of experience Shiv Sena their procession their vandalism of public properties of migrant people looks bit nervous . Amchi Mumbai Amchi Maharastra mostly ruled by Congress rather than Shiv Sena or BJP clearly shows the party it's ideology the voter and his ultimate thinking.

Joke of the day, 'Sharad Pawar as
    Prime Minister'.(Day dreaming!!!)
Udhav Thackray has no capability of
handling a party because he has a clean and straight forward mind, where as Shiv Sena need a crooked and goonda type person like Bal Thackray.
Whatever popularity shiv sena gained was only by muscle power and miss-guiding poor Maharastra public in the name of 'Amchi Mathi Amchi Manse'. Actually Mumbai does not belongs to them.
They can not change the history books.
