Yaksha Kalashree Award to Koppate Mutta

Udupi: Sri Mitra Kalaniketana Trust, Saralebettu will confer the late Gopradi Vittal Patil Memorial Yaksha Kalashree award on veteran yakshagana artiste Koppate Mutta.
The award will be given away during the annual day celebration of the trust to be held on April 30.

BSW Course at St Philomena College

Puttur: St Philomena College here will offer Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) course from the coming academic year. Rural students can avail benefits from this, said Mai de Deus Education Institutions convener Fr Bonaventure Nazareth.
New combinations of subjects will be started along with Commerce and Science subjects at the PU College. Computer Science and Business Mathematics courses will be also offered. The college has a computer lab with 18 computers.

KSRTC Revises Bus Ticket Fare

Mangalore: The Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) has fixed rates for the Rajahamsa and Airavata bus services from Kundapur and Udupi to Bangalore.
The rate for the Rajahamsa from Kundapur to Bangalore via Hassan will be Rs 320, Udupi-Hassan-Bangalore will be Rs 300 and Kundapur-Shimoga-Bangalore will be Rs 314. Ticket from Kundapur to Bangalore via Shimoga-Hassan will cost Rs 400.


Thatched House Gutted

Moodbidri: A fire broke out in a house at Shirtadi near Moodbidri on Friday, April 21. The thatched roof is said to have caught fire due to a broken electric wire. The loss has been estimated to Rs 25,000.
