Nitte Education Trust to Start New Institute to Train Teachers
Mangalore: Nitte Education Trust will soon start an institute for training teachers, said N Vinay Hegde, chairman, Nitte Education Trust, while addressing a press conference here on Wednesday April 26.
The press conference was organized to announce the future plans of the trust in connection with the Trust’s founder’s day celebration on Saturday April 29. The plan to start the institute is as per the Trust’s decision to concentrate more on improving the quality of education than on starting new courses.
Pizza Hut Opens in City
Mangalore: The city has a new eatery in the form of Pizza Hut, the largest Pizza chain in the world, which opened its restaurant at Bharath Mall here recently.
A press release stated that this is the 126th restaurant by Pizza Hut in India. It has restaurants in 36 cities across the country. The brand has been the market leader in its field for 10 years now.
It has introduced “Treat Bundles” at a price of just Rs 75 per head. It includes a personal pan pizza, a beverage of choice and a dessert.
The release said that the restaurant offers pan pizzas, tandoori pizzas, freshizza and more. There are also a wide variety of appetizers, salads, pastas, beverages and desserts.
Hasiru Horekanike Procession on April 28
Mangalore: As part of Kadri Manjutha Temple Brahmakalashotsava, a ‘Hasiru Horekanike’ procession will be organized here on Friday April 28 at 4 pm, said Brahmakalashotsava Samiti vice-president Pradeep Kumar Kalkura while addressing a press meet on Wednesday April 26.
The procession will leave Nehru Maidan and pass through AB Shetty circle, Hampankatta circle, KSR road, Navbharath circle, KR Rao road circle, CV Nayak Hall and Mallikatta cirle to terminate at Kadri temple.
The members of Sri Kshetra Dharmastala Rural Development Project and several bhajan association are expected to take part in the procession.
Training Programme for Handicapped Students
Mangalore: A computer training programme for poor handicapped students and members of self-help groups will be conducted by the Mobility Training Centre for the Blind in collaboration with Glow Touch Technologies here.
The programme will be for two months. There will be three batches from 10 am to 11.30 am, from 11.30 am to 1 pm and from 2.30 pm to 4 pm. The fee has been fixed at Rs 100 per month and each batch will have 12 students.
Admission is on first-come first-serve basis. On May 1 a new batch of training in computer, tailoring, paper bag making, candle making, chalk making and knitting will commence. Free food will be provided to blind students undergoing Mobility training. The course duration for such students will be six weeks.
