Wake up to aspirations of common man: Rahul Gandhi

New Delhi, Jan 17 (IANS): A charged Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi Friday said that "change" is taking place in the country and the party needs to meet the "aspirations" of the common man, who want a "fair deal".

"This is not just another election to be fought. This is a turning point for India and no one is willing to compromise," said Rahul Gandhi at the AICC meet.

"Everybody wants participation and a fair deal. This is the reality. The change that has taken place around us is unstoppable," he said at the packed Talkatora Stadium.

"What does this mean for us as a political party? It means responding to the change which only the Congress party is capable of. We do not respond by subverting democratic institutions and blocking parliamentary sessions year after year.

"By turning people against each other, by lighting the fire of communal hatred. By proposing the structure of democracy be handed over to one man. We respond from the sole of the values on which the nation was build," he added.

woken up five years ago not five months before? It is OK to sleep few more months then enjoy the looted money few more years. Until then someone will come to loot and we voters will kick them and bring you back to loot again. Great democracy.

Agreed, Rahul had done enough rehearsals (with speech written by others)and delivered it well.
I am astonished that a decision involving thousands of crores (LPG cylinders) could be taken by a non- minister! Where was he last year when the number of subsidized cylinders were reduced? Why suddenly woke up now?
Why he keeps embarrassing the government with his sudden outbursts? It is his party which is in power.
Anyway, what is new in his speech?

It is easy to read a handout written by a team of advisors. His IQ is lesser than a class 5 student. One who has only got up the ranks because of his family. What credibility he has?. Neither can he spontaneously speak on issues, nor inspire anyone. A true leader is one who inspires, rahul only perspires. People are voluntarily promoting modi, not even BJP but only Modi cos he inspires. One can relate to him for the pure passion and the man that he is. Rahul is not fit even to be a corporator, forget a PM.
